On top of youth football camps starting this week, hosted by Perry football coaches and high school players, the varsity football team also began their summer camp at Dewey Field on Monday afternoon. The camp is expected to last throughout the week and prepare the Bluejays for the start of the 2023 season. Perry will look to bounce back following a 1-8 record in their 2022 campaign. They will be lead this year by new head coach Tyler Hovey who will look to turn the tide around on the gridiron for the Bluejays.

Perry will begin their 2023 football season on August 25th against Des Moines Hoover at Perry High School. They will then be on the road in Jefferson as they battle it out in Week 2 with the Greene County Rams on Friday, September 1st.
