Following a double digit win season for the Perry Bluejays on the baseball diamond in 2023, the Bluejays skipper Michael Craig shared his favorite moments that he and his team had during the season.
“One was actually a loss but it was PCM on June 19th. We were up by 6 and then they fought back and went up and it was like the 10th or 11th inning. Our club just didn’t quit and that is where I could finally see like, “Hey guys, we know how to fight and how to battle in the trenches and get the wins.” It didn’t come out that way that night but that was the first time I saw that our club actually has what it takes. That was a good battle for us and I think that was a turning point for us because we went 6-3 after that. It was a phenomenal game,” said Craig.
Craig also shared a memory of his team on senior night that was one of the top memories of the season for him as well.
“I love going out at the end of the year with our seniors and just looking back at the diamond and each one of them giving me top moments of their career, and each one of them giving me one as well. I think that’s always just special just seeing the seniors light up for one last time and seeing all the hard work that they put into it. It was a good group of seniors that I am going to miss. They worked hard for these past few years. They should feel honored leaving with the 10 wins of the season and I look forward to next season and the guys we got coming back,” Craig said.
The Bluejays definitely are headed under the right direction with Michael Craig leading the way.
