The public is invited to a free event to check out a local amenity in Jefferson.

The Youth Services Department at the Jefferson Public Library is having an open house on Thursday from 2-7pm. Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says the goal of the open house is to not only introduce the services and programs they have to offer to all youth, but to also introduce an almost entirely new staff. She talks about an extra special incentive for people to join them on Thursday.

“So the plan is when families show up we are going to give them a sort of passport pamphlet style book with different activities that correspond with the new items that we’re providing. A family gets that whole book stamped, they turn it back into us and we’re actually entering it into a chance to win a back to school basket.”

The open house goes past when the library closes from 6-7pm so parents who work during the day can also come in. Free refreshments will be provided and this is a come and go event.
