The Perry Chamber of Commerce promoted their Bike Ride to Rippey during the largest bike-touring event in the world on Tuesday.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says they set up a table in the path of RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) to promote their own bike ride in the winter. Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they didn’t have a direct role in the bike ride across Iowa, but she mentions how fun it was to be a supporter of Rippey while telling people about the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

Based on where we were located it was great to be able to direct people when they had questions. After we figured out where everything was, then we can also help relay information. But ultimately, we were promoting Perry and BRR being the bike ride to Rippey and that partnership over the last 40 some years. So a lot of people we talked to were very familiar with the ride and already looking forward to it being cooler in about six months. Then the very hot Tuesday that we had, there were others that had never heard of it before, never been to the area before.”

The Bike Ride to Rippey is already on the schedule for next year on February 3, 2024 and registration will start in October.
