We continue to follow season statistics for AC/GC Chargers baseball and softball players. For the baseball team, junior Andrew Mahaffey started 22 of the 23 games he played, racking up 50 at bats for 12 runs, 10 hits, 6 singles, 4 doubles, 8 RBI’s and 3 sacrifice bunts. He was walked 11 times, hit by pitch twice, reached on error 6 times and was struck out 18 times for 14 total bases, a batting average of .200, on base percentage of .365 and slugging percentage of .280.

Mahaffey was successful on all 5 attempted steals, and had 15 assists, 19 putouts and 8 errors for 42 total chances, and a fielding percentage of .810. He was the starting pitcher in 5 games, throwing the ball 358 times to 79 batters over 17.1 innings. He recorded an opponent batting average of .266, allowed 21 hits, 28 runs of which 14 were earned, walked 21, hit 4 by pitch, allowed 2 sacrifices and struck out 14 for an ERA of 5.65 and 2.42 walks and hits per inning pitched.

For the softball team, junior Mersadez Richter started in all 26 of the team’s games, putting up 85 at bats for 26 runs, 33 hits, 23 singles, 9 doubles and a triple, along with 14 RBI’s. She was walked 10 times, hit by pitch once, reached on error 6 times and was struck out 6 times for 44 total bases, a batting average of .388, on base percentage of .458, and slugging percentage of .518. Richter was successful on 3 of her 6 stolen base attempts, and tallied 56 assists, 36 putouts and 5 errors for 97 total chances and a fielding percentage of .948.
