Head Buena Vista University (Storm Lake) volleyball coach Will Bauman conducted a volleyball camp in Jefferson on July 21 for Greene County high school and middle school players. Ram head coach Chris Heisterkamp and her coaching staff assisted.

Bauman told Raccoon Valley Radio he conducts 30-35 camps at high schools annually across Iowa. “As a former high school coach, I was always looking to get better, so I liked bringing in coaches that could help me do that, and maybe had a different approach to things than I did. Now, I’m on the other end of that and I enjoy going to the various schools, plus I’m always on the lookout for recruits.”

The Beavers were the American Rivers Conference Tournament runners-up in 2022, which was Bauman’s first season there. His high school teams at Tripoli won five straight State titles and he won another one at Heart of Iowa Activities Conference member Nevada.
