The Greene County School Board approved a project for the high school construction class for the upcoming school year.
The Board approved at their July meeting a project to build a new restroom facility at Linduskia Field. Superintendent Brett Abbotts says the new facility will have five stalls on the female side, three stalls and three urinals for the men’s side and two family restrooms with changing tables and a storage area. Additionally, there will also be a covered awning area and a concrete path from the concession stand to the new facility.
Abbotts talks about why the Board wanted to add family restrooms with the new structure.
“I think it’s a really vital piece. It allows us to cater to all families in our community. We have plenty of young families with young children, if they need to change them at the game or they just need to have a little additional space, a little more privacy, I think it lends itself to that.”
The Board approved the amount not to exceed $180,000 with payment to be from the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) fund. The project will be done by the high school construction class and it will be located on the north end of the track.
