The Stuart Police Department will be hosting one of its fun annual summer events coming up.
On August 1st, National Night Out will be hosted at Lawbaugh Park from 5-8pm. Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger says that National Night Out is an event that police departments around the nation hold to promote police-community partnerships, and to try and help make neighborhoods safer places to live. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of what they have planned for this year.
“It’s a no cost event. Whatever is there, no one has to pay anything for. So we’ve got a grill out happening, we’ve got bounce houses back, I’ve got the face painter back. We’ve added cotton candy. If everything works out with the Stuart Fire Department, they might be bringing up their dunk tank, so I’m trying to get some good volunteers that want to get dunked by a bunch of kids. It’s just a really fun, family friendly event. Any age is welcome, anyone is welcome, and just kind of have a night out together.”
Guisinger explains the meal will be served from 5-6pm, and a raffle will begin at 7pm. She adds that the Stuart Fire Department, Stuart Rescue and the police department will all have some emergency vehicles on hand to show to the community, so they can see what they use to help them.
