This year Summer Reading Programs are winding down in Greene County and there’s a couple of events left for participants and the public to enjoy.

Jefferson Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says edutainer Will Stuck will be the end of program performer for each of the six county libraries. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio an edutainer is a mix of education and entertainment and Stuck is a former librarian, so she’s confident he knows fun and enjoyable shows for families. Mount points out Stuck has three different shows that cover the four different Summer Reading Programs themes that the libraries have chosen.

“Will has exclusively, pretty much adapted his performance to reflect and be able to encompass all of those different themes. So I have his titles right here, he has ‘Choose Your Own MESS (Music, Education, Stories and Science),’  ‘Will Stuck’s 20,000 Laughs Under the Sea, and ‘Will’s Whacky Wilderness Show.’”

The shows are on Thursday and Friday, with three county libraries each day. The show dates, times and locations can be found below. Each show is free and is open to the public, except for the Jefferson show, which is just for SPR participants.

Mount says the other event that the Greene County Libraries Association is hosting is the end of program pool party for the tweens and teens at the Jefferson Municipal Pool. This event is on Friday from 8-10pm, where participants will get to enjoy free swimming, snacks and music. These two programs are sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
