A Greene County High School graduate competed at a national wrestling tournament.

Kale Peterson graduated from high school this past May and earned second place at the US Marines Junior Nationals Freestyle Wrestling Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota. Earlier this week, Peterson won five straight matches to put him in the semifinals, where he won 6-4 against Dalton Perry of Pennsylvania. 

Tenth-ranked nationally, Peterson lost in the finals by a score of 8-0 to eighth-ranked Kyler Larkin of Arizona. Peterson is a three-time state champion while in high school and he wrestles for Sebolt Academy. Peterson is also a University of Iowa wrestling recruit.
