The Dallas Center-Grimes softball team closed out their season with their annual banquet on Friday.

The Mustangs players and parents enjoyed food and then kind words from the coaches. The Most Valuable Player Award went to junior Aubrey Johansen for her excellent stats hitting and pitching this year. The Most Improved Player went to junior Haylee Uhl as she went from starting four games last year to being a focal point in the lineup this year. The Sportsmanship and Coach’s Award went to senior Abby Osborn for her ability to run the bases and provide senior leadership.

Additionally, the all-conference team selections were announced. Johansen was named a unanimous first team selection as a pitcher, junior Macee Reiling was selected as an infielder on the first team and senior Olivia Huston was named a first team selection as an outfielder. The names included on the Little Hawkeye Conference second team were infielder junior Bella Mulder, outfielder junior Lydia Zaruba, outfielder junior Summer Campbell and utility player junior Reese Burke. Honorable mentions went to seniors Abby Osborn and Zoey Valenta.
