Tomorrow at 4 p.m. kicks off the 51st Shrine Bowl All-Star football game inside the air-conditioned UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. 2023 graduate Jesse Miller is representing the Greene County Rams, but he’s had much shorter prep time than most because the U. of South Dakota tight end recruit took a class on campus in Vermillion that didn’t end until yesterday afternoon.
Caden Duncan is the head coach of the Greene County Rams and was Miller’s high school coach. “Jesse’s always been a pretty impressive guy, whether you’re talking about his physical traits or the academic side of things, so he’s capable of getting to Shrine Bowl Camp on Thursday and still knowing everything about what’s going on with the offense and all his rules and routes and things like that because of his mental capacity and how smart of a kid he is.” The coach added Miller possesses a terrific work ethic. “I know if they’ve sent him playbooks or anything like that, he’s been studying those and he’ll show up to have a great game in the Shrine Bowl.”
