The Winterset Huskies girls softball team will advance to the 2023 state semifinal softball tournament after defeating the Carlisle Wildcats, 11-5.

The Huskies took the lead early on after a home run was scored in the first inning by sophomore Brynn Acton. Bringing in Jena Young who was able to add the score. An early lead that the Huskies held onto to fend off the number two seed Carlisle.

Winterset Huskies will return to the fields Wednesday, July 19, to face Fort Dodge Dodgers at 11:30 a.m. They will play in Fort Dodge at the Iowa Central Field.
