The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) is next week and part of the route goes through the heart of the City of Jefferson.
One essential service that is also on the official RAGBRAI route is the Greene County Medical Center. GCMC officials have coordinated an alternate route for patients and anyone needing services on July 25th as an estimated 25,000 bicyclists will be coming into Jefferson between 8am and 1pm to use State Street from Highway 4 and enter through the emergency parking lot entrance right before Lincoln Way.
Patients who need to use the main entrance to the medical center will turn left at the Emergency Department Drive, and those who need the Family Medicine Clinic, Speciality Clinics, Greene County Public Health and UnityPoint at Home will use directional signage to the south clinic parking lot.
RAGBRAI cyclists will be entering Jefferson the morning of July 25th on Grimmell Road from County Road E-53 and turning onto West Lincoln Way riding that until they leave town heading toward Rippey.
