The Adel-DeStoto-Minburn School Board met on Monday.
The Board approved a financing plan for a facilities master plan to use three sources including using general obligation bonds, sales tax revenue bonds and accumulated sales tax revenue. Part of the facilitated master plan is to build a new high school in Adel.
They also approved the FRK Architects proposal letter of support for the various projects including a new high school building as the district prepares for the general obligation bond vote in November. Then the board approved updating their athletic coach evaluation tool, four Iowa School Board legislative priority recommendations for the 2024 legislative session, auditorium sound system upgrade for the cost of $38,300, and a school communications proposal from Donavan Group to provide special support with the bond campaign.
They also held a public hearing and approved the public conveyance and set a public hearing date and time for the proposed issuance of approximately $29 million in school infrastructure sales of, services and use tax revenue bonds for August 14th. The Board ended the meeting with a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual.
