The Perry Community School District will be making a slight increase in the lunch meal prices for the upcoming school year.

The School Board recently approved a .20 cent increase to the elementary lunch from $2.75 to $2.90, a 10 cent increase to the middle and high school lunches from $3 to $3.10, and they approved a $0.70 cent increase to the adult lunch from $4.15 to $4.85. Superintendent Clark Wicks describes the reasons why there needed to be  price increases.

“Well, each year we take a look at that and a lot of times we just raise it a small amount to keep up with inflation, to keep up with labor prices and as we all know, food has increased and so have labor costs.”

Wicks notes that the School Board also approved to keep every breakfast meal free.
