Now that the season is over for AC/GC Chargers baseball and softball, we’ll take a look at individual season statistics for the teams. Each day we’ll look at one baseball and one softball player, going down the roster numerically.
First off for the baseball team is senior Alex Spack. He started and played in all 25 games for the Chargers, collecting 58 at bats, 15 runs, 12 hits, 9 singles, 2 doubles, a triple and 8 RBI’s. Spack also tallied 13 walks,10 hit by pitches, reached once on error, 25 strikeouts and 16 total bases. He had a .207 batting average, a .432 on base percentage and a .276 slugging percentage. In base running he attempted to steal 16 times, and was successful on 14 of them. In fielding statistics, Spack had 3 assists, 27 putouts, 7 errors, 37 total chances, and an .811 fielding percentage. When it came to pitching, he threw for 26 innings for a total of 512 pitches against 119 opposing batters. Spack recorded an opponent batting average of .252, allowed 30 hits and 38 runs, 26 of which were earned. He also walked 19 batters, hit 9 and struck out 22, for an ERA of 7, and 1.89 walks and hits per inning pitched.
For the softball team, senior Sophie Dorsey started and played in all 26 of the team’s games, collecting 76 at bats, 19 runs, 16 hits, 14 singles, 2 doubles, 8 RBI’s and a sacrifice bunt. She was walked 21 times, hit once by a pitch, reached on error 7 times and was struck out 7 times for 18 total bases. Dorsey recorded a .211 batting average, .388 on base percentage and .237 slugging percentage. When it came to running statistics, she attempted to steal bases 6 times, and was successful on 4 of them. In the fielding stats, Dorsey tallied 2 assists, 20 putouts, 4 errors, 26 total chances and a fielding percentage of .846.
