The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board approved payroll change notices for Daniel Irving and Marty McCreedy as new part-time hires for the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, before hearing department updates from Veteran Affairs Coordinator Beth Watson and Internet Technology Director Brian Hoffman. In the update from Watson, they approved the quarterly report from her office, and in the update from Hoffman they approved a block hour agreement with Panora Fiber, and a three year agreement with Kasaya VSA including Bitdefender antivirus software.

The Council then approved the fiscal year 2024 contract for library services unanimously, and the 28E agreement between the sheriff’s office and the City of Guthrie Center in a 4-1 vote. The one no vote came from Supervisor Mike Dickson, who would’ve liked to see clearer language on how benefits and pay for the two deputies the City pays for would match what the County gives to the others, especially in regards to making sure that all deputies receive the same benefits and raises.
