The Adair County Fair is getting started tomorrow, and should bring plenty of entertainment.
All livestock not including poultry may be brought in starting at 6am, with weigh in for swine, lead market beef and junior feeder pen cattle, bottle/bucket calves, meat goats and sheep happening from 7am to noon, in that order. Entry for the quilt show will begin at the Varied Industries Building from noon to 3pm, with the dog show at the Mid-American Arena starting at 1 o’clock.
Swine performance will be in the swine barn from 1-1:45pm, with lamb performance immediately following until 2:30pm. In the swine show ring, registration for the Kids Rabbit/Cavy Show will start at 3, with the show beginning at 3:30pm, and the 4H/FFA show to start at 4pm. Starting at 5 and going until 8pm, a performance by Jesse and the Medicine Men will begin in the gazebo, and the quilt show will start in the Varied Industries Building.
Starting at 6pm, there will be a free BBQ Hamburger/Pork Burger meal sponsored by the Adair County Fair Board in the courtyard, along with an ice cream social hosted by the historical society, and a silent auction by 4-H members held in the 4-H/FFA Center. Then starting at 8pm will be presentations of Little Miss and Little Mister Adair County, local conservation awards with the Adair County Soil and Water Conservation, 4-H Hall of Fame and 4-H Senior Recognition with the Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and coronation of the Adair County Fair Queen. The night will end with a fireworks show by Top Notch Fireworks.
