The People Active for Library Service (PALS) of the Stuart Public Library are hosting a fun event later in the month that makes an interesting play on a phrase common to bar goers.
PALS member Carol Brewer says the group will host a Bar Crawl Bar Recipe Challenge on July 29th at 10am. She adds that set up will begin an hour beforehand, with bars being set out at 9:30am. Brewer tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the requirements for the challenge.
“To bring the bars, it can be anybody, but it has to be someone that is 18 or older, number one. The other thing is, is that they must come and register at the library or they can even call in, if they choose not to walk in and do that . Their bars must be in a container of minimal 9×13, so everything is pretty standard and that we have enough for everyone to test.”
Brewer adds that contestants must also bring in their recipe, so that taste testers can see if there is something in the bars that they might not be able to eat. When the PALS got started with planning for the event, they were looking to have 10 bakers participate, and have already met that number. Brewer says that they’ll continue to take bakers, and hope the community will come to taste the bars.
