An open house will be held this week for a housing project that’s happening in Churdan.

The event will be held Thursday from 5-7pm at 403 Harding Street, Apartment 2, in Churdan. Anthony Minnehan is one of the organizers and says the total project they are working on includes nine apartments that are a mix of one and two bedrooms. He says two of them are already rented out for $1,000 per month, which includes rent, water, heat, mowing and snow removal.

Minnehan points out they have one apartment that is available, four are currently occupied and four others are either partially or are not yet remodeled. He notes that it takes about six months per unit to be remodeled. He adds the reason they are remodeling these apartments is because these are the only units that can be rented in Churdan and they are in desperate need of refurbishment.

The open house is free and open to the public.
