The Panorama Panther softball team ended their season last week. Here’s a look back at the 2023 season.
The Panthers started their season on May 22nd. The Panthers were up against bitter rival the West Central Valley Wildcats. Historically Panorama has had the advantage in the rivalry. However, WCV has won the previous two matchups. Including winning both games last season. There were a lot of runs in this game. The teams combined for 13 runs in total. Unfortunately for the Panthers, they only had four of those runs. Giving WCV the win, 9-4. Panorama will fall to 0-1 to start the season.
After the loss the team would rebound on May 23rd. They’d pick up a big win over Woodward-Granger. It was a close game for most of the match-up. Both teams were tied at 3 after 3 innings. However, in the fourth, the Panthers took over and put in 6 runs. This is what would elevate Panorama to the win, taking this one 15-5.
The Panthers would be in a double header against Pleasantville on May 25th. They would drop both games to the Trojans. A blow out loss in game 1, 12-2, but they almost came back to win a barn burner. But they fell short losing 13-12. Following those losses, the Panthers would rebound and pick up a 5-4 win the following day over Manson-NW Wesbter.
That was a recap of the first half of the 2023 softball season. We’ll have more recaps throughout the week.
