Danielle Dawson of Grimes was traveling in the left lane heading west on Highway 141 Diagonal when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Jeffery Menedez of Denison. No injuries reported. Damage to Dawson’s vehicle estimated at $1000.00 and Menedez estimated at $1500.00.

July 8, 2023

Kenneth Lee Walker, age 57 of 4940 NE 14th St., Des Moines was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Hunter Ray Oleson, age 20 of 4402 160th Circle, Urbandale was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear-original charge of theft.

Jay Miller of Bouton was traveling east on Highway 141 when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Yordi Mena of Perry. Miller was transported to the Dallas County Hospital with minor injuries. Damage to Miller’s vehicle estimated at $3000.00 and $5000.00 to Mena’s. Mena was cited for failure to stop in a safe assured distance.

A minor driver of Perry was traveling in the 17000 block of K Trail when he going around the curve of the gravel road and his power steering went out. The vehicle traveled across the roadway and into the north ditch. The vehicle rolled onto its roof and came to rest at the bottom of the ditch.  All occupants of the vehicle had minor scrapes and cuts but declined medical assistance. The driver was issued a citations for failure to maintain control and violation of an instructional permit. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $5000.00.

Timothy Michael Lewellin, age 38 of 1107 Sugar Grove, Dallas Center was arrested in the 800 block of Linden St., Dallas Center for possession of a controlled substance.

Nicholas Alexander Towne, age 21 of 11705 NW 121st St., Granger was arrested in the 32000 block of 360th St., for OWI.

Harrison Conrad Sanchez, age 24 of 4282 E 50th St., Des Moines was arrested at 18930 H Ave., Perry for OWI and operating a vehicle without registration card.

Ralph Putnam of East Lansing, MI., was traveling near the 109 mile marker of Interstate 80  when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries reported. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $7500.00.

Staycee Deeneen Richmond , age 60 of 2121 Greene St., Adel was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear-original charge of driving while license suspended.
