A nurse with the Greene County Medical Center was recently recognized on a wider scale.
Terry Rottinghaus was named this year’s DAISY Award winner with the medical center and was also acknowledged, along with five other DAISY recipients, at the regional UnityPoint Health Luncheon at the Lakeside Casino in Osceola. Rottinghaus has worked in the medical center for 11 years with acute care. Rottinghaus got into nursing later in life when she helped her father-in-law with hospice.
She was selected by her peers for her extraordinary care she gives to her patients, including when she helped an individual who was the father of a bride to be with his terminal diagnosis, move the wedding date up so he could be there.
Rottinghaus joined other DAISY Award winners from the Greater Regional Health and Story, Lucas, Guthrie and Clarke County Hospitals.
