The Summer Reading Program at Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is entering its final days for 2023.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that the program has been great this year, and that the final events will be a lot of fun. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what those events will be.
“This Friday is our last Summer Reading story hour for our little ones that count(s) as a drawing ticket for them to earn some prizes. So we have Friday at 10(am) with a story and a craft. And then July 10th is our final Summer Reading program event, and it’s a mega foam party.”
Hawkins mentions that there were over 155 participants in the program this year, over 4 age groups. She adds that each age group will have at least three drawings for prizes on Monday. And that for each book read and each event that the readers participated in, they have one entry into the drawings.
