The Perry Public Library is off and running in their summer reading program with a ton of participation at every level.
Librarian Mindy Farmer says they started their summer reading program on June 1st with the theme of “All Together Now!,” with the focus on making new friends, spreading kindness and finding ways to help the community. Farmer explains that they have 396 children in their kids summer reading program along with 73 teens, and 102 adults for the other programs. Farmer mentions that they’re thrilled with the total amount of people participating this year.
“So it’s been really fun to see people participate. Maybe my favorite thing has been to see all of the teens in the library. Some of them have these really great reading goals and they’ve really been coming in on a regular basis and submitting their different reading reviews because they’re super excited about the program.”
The Perry Library Summer Reading Program runs until the end of July for all ages.
