There are a couple of youth activities coming up with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

First through sixth graders are encouraged to sign up for Nerf Wars that will be happening on Monday, July 10th at the Greene County Community Center. There will be two sessions, the first one is for first through third graders from 10:30am-noon and fourth through sixth graders from 1:30-3pm. JPRD will supply the nerf guns with darts and safety glasses. The cost to participate is $10 for community center members and $15 for non-members. The deadline to register is by Friday.

Another opportunity for kids in the Jefferson and surrounding area for fun is the youth volleyball camp, that will be held next Tuesday through Thursday, also at the community center. Kids going into third and fourth grades will have their program from 11:30am-12:45pm and fifth and sixth graders are from 12:45-2pm. The camps will be led by the head high school volleyball coach, Chris Heisterkamp. The cost to participate in either camp is $20 for community center members and $25 for non-members.

Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or stop by to sign up.
