Dallas Center-Grimes summer sports win the Little Hawkeye Conference on Monday.
The baseball team defeats Oskaloosa Indians by a final score of 13 to 2 and improves their winning streak to 9 games. The Mustangs finish the season with a conference record of (18-3) which stands firmly in first place and two games ahead of second place Indianola. Clayton Campidilli had a big night with two extra base hits and one single that drove in a total of five runs batted in. Now they will have a day off and take on Ankeny on Wednesday in Ankeny. The softball team made quick work of the Oskaloosa Indians with a run rule in five innings by the final score of 12 to 0 and breaks a two game losing streak. With this win the Mustangs improve their conference record to (18-3) which ties Norwalk in first place in the Little Hawkeye standings with no games left to be played. This makes the Mustangs conference champions in back-to-back years. Now they will await until Saturday to play their postseason game against Carroll or Denison-Schleswig.
