A weekend overnight fire causes damage to a home in Grand Junction.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded to the structure fire at 12:39am Saturday in the 900 block of East Main Street. Grand Junction Fire Chief Jason McDowell tells Raccoon Valley Radio when they arrived on scene, smoke could be seen coming from the roof and there were flames from the north side attic of the one story home.
McDowell says there were at least two people and one dog in the home at the time of the fire and everyone made it out safely. He points out they were able to contain the fire in the attic and there was additional water damage throughout the home. McDowell adds no one was hurt in the incident and the cause of the fire was electrical-related.
