Thursday, June 29th
11:04am: Nicole Tasler of Jefferson reported a theft of property in the 800 block of West State Street. The Officer is investigating.
4:08pm: Employee’s for the Hy-Vee Pharmacy reported a two-vehicle accident having occurred on the private property for 106 West Washington Street. The Officer was told by both involved no damage was caused to the vehicles and they both did not want a police report.
7:02pm: Michelle Kerkhoff of Carroll reported a reckless driver on 220th Street 3 miles east of the intersection with North Elm Street. The Officer located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop in the 1400 block of North Mulberry Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Chia Grabel was placed under arrest for “Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence – 1st Offense”, “Driving on the Wrong Side of Two-Way Highway”, “Violation of Financial Liability Coverage”, “Failure to have a Valid License”
7:49pm: Carole Custer of Jefferson reported a dead animal in the roadway near the intersection of 220th Street and Mulberry. The Officer did not locate an obstruction to the roadway.
9:54pm: David McQuillen of Jefferson reported what he believed to be gunshots in the 1400 block of Southfield Drive. The Officer checked the area and heard nothing out of the ordinary. The Officer spoke with a few people walking who had heard fireworks in the area prior to the Officers arrival.
Friday, June 30th
12:38pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 220th Street / Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Ronald Fisher of Colfax was issued a citation for “Driving While Suspended”
9:03pm: An anonymous caller reported fireworks being set off in the 500 block of East Monroe Street. The Officer patrolled the area and could not find the source of the fireworks.
9:11pm: Suesitta Schmitt of Jefferson reported an assault having occurred at the Wild Rose Casino. The Officer is investigating.
9:30pm: An anonymous caller reported fireworks being set off near the intersection of Washington Street and Cedar Street. The Officer patrolled the reported area and did not hear fireworks being set off.
9:53pm: Staff with the Wild Rose Casino reported a suspected intoxicated male was attempting to start fights in the Casino’s parking lot. The Officer responded and located the male. As a result of the Officers investigation, Leeroy Steadman of Melcher, Iowa was placed under arrest for “Public Intoxication”
11:48pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of West Madison Street and South Vine Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Juan Manuel Flores-Vazquez of Jefferson was issued citations for “No Drivers’ License”, “Violation of Financial Liability Coverage”, and “Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle”
Saturday, July 1st
1:36am: While on patrol an Officer located an unsecured business door in the 300 block of West Lincoln Way. The Officer found nothing suspicious and secured the door.
1:46am: While on patrol an Officer located a male having possible medical issues in the 300 block of West Reed Street. The Greene County Ambulance was called to the scene and transported the male to the Greene County Medical Center.
2:18am: An Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of South Wilson Street for a male who was reported to be suicidal. The Officer transported the male to the Greene County Medical Center for an evaluation.
9:58am: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Locust Street and Lincoln Way. As a result of the traffic stop, Royce Gonnelly of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Driving While Suspended”
12:25pm: An employee of the Jefferson Post Office reported a male and female who appeared to be fighting in the 100 block of West Harrison Street. The Officer located the two. Both stated the argument had not been physical.
2:10pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop in near the intersection of Lincoln Way and Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Eric Johnson of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle”
8:17pm: An anonymous caller reported loud music being played in the 200 block of South Pinet Street. The Officer located the source of the music and it was turned down.
11:24pm: Sandra White of Jefferson reported fireworks being set off in the 300 block of South Locust Street. The Officer located the person setting off the fireworks and advised them of the city code violation. They stopped setting off the fireworks.
11:23pm: Staff with the Greene County Medical Center reported a possibly intoxicated male causing problems with patients in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Way. The Officer located the male. As a result of the Officers investigation, Harvick Beals of Jefferson was placed under arrest for “Disorderly Conduct”, “Public Intoxication”, and “Possession of Alcohol Under the age of 21”
Sunday, July 2nd
2:26am: Tina Peck of Jefferson reported a fight occurring in the 300 block of West Reed Street. The Officer is investigating.
7:12am: Jennie Schuttler of Jefferson reported a Domestic Disturbance occurring in the 500 block of South Olive Street. The Officer spoke with those involved and determined the argument had not been physical.
9:01am: While on patrol an Officer located a male, he was believed to have an active arrest warrant. As a result of the Officers investigation, Andrew Jensen of Jefferson was placed under arrest for “Parole Violation” and “Possession of Marijuana – 3rd Offense”
10:30am: Brittanie Russell of Jefferson reported an approximately 12-year-old female in a car alone in the parking lot for the Wild Rose Casino. The Officer checked on the situation and found the female was 16 years old and waiting for her guardian to come to the vehicle.
10:37pm: The Greene County Medical Center reported a dog bite incident having occurred in Jefferson involving an adult male and his dog. The Officer is investigating.
11:15pm: Shawn Ellsbury of Jefferson reported a theft of a cellular phone having occurred in the 500 block of South Walnut Street.
2:54pm: Brandy Strawn of Jefferson reported having found suspected illegal narcotics in the 100 block of West Park Street. The Officer located the items and removed them.
4:00pm: Karyn Parker of Jefferson requested an Officer be present while she collected property for a residence in the 600 block of South Maple Street.
8:05pm: Greene County Dispatch received two open 911 calls which showed to have come from the 700 block of South Maple Street. The Officer checked the area and did not find the source or reason for the calls.
10:26pm: An anonymous caller reported fireworks being set off near the intersection of Edgewood / South Elm Street. The Officer checked the area and could not find the source of the fireworks.
