fireworks-4

The Perry Chamber of Commerce has released its schedule for the City’s annual Fourth of July Celebration with Route 66.

There will be plenty of entertainment at the celebration that starts at 9am with the parade line-up along east Perry Plaza, and then the parade will commence at 10am and move from Willis Avenue to Pattee Park. Next, there will be the Perry Fine Arts Musical Extravaganza and ice cream social hosted by the First United Methodist Church. Additionally, there will be live music from a new band called “Route 66,” that will be played at Pattee Park from 6 to 9:30pm. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says at 9:30pm all the fundraising that went into the fireworks finale will be worth it

It’s been such a huge community effort to raise those funds. It’ll be an $18,000 show. So I feel like that’s something to remind people that, you know, that’s not something you can just do on your own. It requires permits and a commercial company to set these off because they’re bigger than what you can get at any of the stands around town. So I hope everyone can enjoy them.”

Pasutti notes for those that can’t make it to Pattee Park can also see the fireworks from all around town. They are still taking vendor and parade registrations, which can be found here.
