Both the school boards for Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center met in a joint session recently.

AC/GC Superintendent Josh Rassmussen tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the first thing that the Boards covered was a presentation by Curriculum Director Carla Mahaffey on Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP).

“We received some ISASP scores for our district, and just a lot of positive, a lot of growth was seen in the areas of our reading, our literacy, and our math scores. So we went through all the data from our buildings, and every building saw substantial growth.”

These increases come at a time when the majority of the rest of the state and nation have seen declining scores.
