The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board approved the Iowa Retail Permit Application for cigarette/tobacco/nicotine/vapor for Lake Panorama National Resort, and payroll change notice for Harley Hester who completed the six month probationary period as a dispatcher for the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office. Hester’s pay rate will be raised from $20 an hour to $25.88 an hour.

The Board also heard department head updates from County Conservation Director Brad Halterman, County Engineer Josh Sebern and Health Services Director Jotham Arber. Following Sebern’s report, the Supervisors approved an updated 28E agreement with Adair County for road maintenance and snow removal for roads along the county line, and discussed drafts of 28E agreements with Stuart and Menlo before hearing about a new gravel source for the Secondary Roads Department.

In the update from Arber, the Board approved changing hours for the transfer station by being closed on Saturdays, and staying open until 6pm every other Monday, and purchasing a Clover Station point of sale system. They also heard about results from the County Health Needs Questionnaire, and how Environmental Health will be changing the billing system for Lake Panorama septic checks.

Pertaining to the Law Enforcement Center, pay applications 31 and 32 for Samuels Group were approved, along with the County reimbursing the city of Guthrie Center for their part of the bill for repairs to Grand Street on the north side of the courthouse.
