The Perry City Council met on Friday.

The Council approved the parks and recreations request to create a part-time swim lesson instructor position and set the wage of $18 to $20 for each session they teach. 

The Council approved forgiving an outstanding interfund loan and forgiving economic development revolving fund loans due to bankruptcy, authorizing the sale of unused and outdated equipment, Katybeth Rice’s application to be a member of the fire department roster, authorizing a three year lease with Impact7G in the amount of $9,000, a Historic Preservation Commission reappointment of Larry Moore and a submission for a Safe Streets and Roads For All (SS4A) grant application to the US Department of Transportation. 

They approved authorizing the fiscal year 2023 operational transfers of funds, fiscal year 2023 transfers of funds debt payments and the fiscal year 2023 emergency levy transfer. The Council amended an ordinance dealing with changing certain stop and yield signs and parking regulations on Bateman and 6th Street due to the completion of the 2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvement Projects
