Next weekend the city of Casey will be holding its annual Casey Fun Days.
On July 7th there will be live music from Acoustic Roads from 6-9pm, and registration for a bags tournament starting at 6 with games to start at 7pm. The Casey Service Club will have a beer garden open downtown, and there will be food trucks as well for some more refreshment options.
On July 8th starting at 7am is the registration for the Casey Stampede Fun Run/Walk and a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Tori’s Angels, with the one mile run/walk starting at 7:30am and the 5k run/walk beginning at 8 at the Casey Community Center. At 8:30am there will be a bake sale, a kids parade at 9:30 with the Little Miss and Mister Casey Contest to follow at 9:45.
Awards including Distinguished Service Award and Citizen of the Year Award will be announced at 10am, with the parade to follow at 10:30, and lunch from 11am to 1pm will be served at the Casey United Methodist Church, with the Boys and Girls Club serving a separate lunch at the Community Center from 11am to 2pm. From 11am to 3pm the Historical Society and Museum will have an open house with displays at the Casey Visitor Center, and an “Amazing Race” themed scavenger hunt at Rolling Hills Bank and Trust starting at 11:30.
The Casey Boys Classic Car Show will be held downtown from noon to 1:30pm, with kids activities including inflatables, miniature golf, face painting and a petting zoo happening at the city park from noon to 3pm. To finish the day off, there will be an antique show from 1-2pm, a cake walk at 2pm, and an outdoor showing on the library lawn of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” at 4pm.
