The ADM Tiger softball team suffered their only second home loss of the season 5-4 to the Carlisle Wildcats in Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup in extra innings last night in Adel. Both teams played really well defensively for playing five extra innings into the 11th inning and giving the ADM Tiger and Carlisle Wildcats fans their price for their admission last night. Freshman Lauren Hagedorn 3-6 with three singles and got three runs batted in. Sophomore Madi James went 2-4 with two singles, Sophomore Aniston Tollari went 2-5 with two singles. Freshman Lauren Hagedorn pitched 8 & 2/3 innings in relief and took the loss on the night for the ADM Tigers putting her pitching record 10-5 on the season and striking out four Carlisle Wildcat batters.
This loss for the ADM Tiger Softball team will put them at a 22-9 overall record and 11-5 in the Raccoon River Conference record on the season.
The ADM Tiger softball team ended up getting the number four seed in the Class 4A-Region 2 Bracket, which was released last week. The ADM Tigers earned a first round bye. The ADM Tigers softball team will host either Storm Lake or Perry in the Second Round on Saturday July 8th at the ADM High School Softball Field with 7:00 pm first pitch and the winner of that game will be playing in the Class 4A-Region 2 Championship game on Tuesday July 11th at 7:00 pm to punch a ticket to head to Class 4A State Softball Tournament.
