The West Central Valley softball team extended their win streak to 4 on Wednesday night as they beat the East Union Eagles handily, 14-2. The Wildcats took a 14-0 lead through the 4th inning. East Union then answered with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 4th, but they never scored again. It was a stellar night offensively for the Wildcats as they had 11 hits on the night to go along with 11 RBI’s. Freshman Lillian Gilbert led West Central Valley in hits with 3 on the night. She also had 1 double and 2 RBIs to her name as well. But the majority of RBI’s knocked in came from Senior Marissa Hagen as she had a total of 5 RBI’s on the night along with a double. The win moves West Central Valley to 19-9 on the season and 12-6 in the West Central standings. They currently sit in 4th place behind Earlham. They will take on the Earlham Cardinals in a big double header tonight on the road in Earlham. First pitch of game 1 is set for 5:30 with Game 2 at 7 PM.

The Wildcats baseball team suffered a disappointing loss last night against Southeast Warren 4-3. The loss snaps their 5 game winning streak. West Central Valley led 3-1 going into the bottom of the 6th inning. However, it was a late rally by the Southeast Warren Warhawks as they put up 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to seal the victory. It was a quiet night for the Wildcats offensively with only 4 hits on the night compared to 7 for the Warhawks. The loss moves West Central Valley to 17-11 on the season and 10-8 in the West Central conference. They will also be taking on Earlham tonight in a double header tonight starting at 5 PM at Earlham High School.
