The Jefferson Police Department is continuing to investigate a death that happened last week.

According to Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse, officers responded to a call of a deceased male in the 800 block of East Adams Street at 5:16am Monday. The man has been identified as 22-year-old Holden VanSchuure of Jefferson. 

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Greene County Medical Examiner Investigators, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
