The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office in Dallas County will get people from the area together for a meal outdoors.

They will be having a picnic with homemade ice cream and soccer from 5 to 7pm on Thursday in Pattee Park in Perry. Extension Office Specialist Rosa Gonzalez says this will be an opportunity for them to educate more adults and children about what they have to offer.

Our intention is to target kids to learn more about forage, but also all the kinds of programming that we offer to the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Then we came up with this idea about having a picnic, something very informal, where people just can join us.”

Gonzalez says they will serve hot dogs, hamburgers and other types of barbeque foods at the picnic. She notes this is a free event, but space is limited so registration is required.
