The City of Dallas Center opened their new pool to a crowd of swimmers on Friday.

There was a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new pool along with the Dallas Center City Council members taking the inaugural swim. Mayor Danny Beyers said that this project spanned 10 years to finally complete after outlasting the life-span of their original pool. Beyers said that this pool is new and improved with a basketball hoop, diving board, new water features for toddlers, a deep end and much more. He told Raccoon Valley Radio there was a line forming an hour before the pool officially opened so the excitement made all the hard work to complete this project worth it.

“Being able to replace what the previous people for town have done and expand it and add more. You can see I know you can’t listen. But the sheer amount of joy here today makes it all worth it.”

The pool will then be open daily from 12:30pm to 7:30pm starting on June 24th, which is subject to change. Family season passes are available for purchase for the price of $125 and single passes will cost $60. The daily admission rate for infants zero to two will be $2, ages three to 54 will pay $6 and the price will be $5 for ages 55 and older.
