Dallas Center-Grimes baseball and softball teams win in convincing fashion against a conference foe on Friday night.

The Mustang baseball team took down the Grinnell Tigers by a shut out score of 11 to 0. Senior Trevor Hamil started the game for Dallas Center-Grimes and he relied on his defense on the mound as he gave up three hits and struck out one batter while allowing no runs to score. Junior Logan Young did the job for one inning in relief pitching. Junior Ty Mikkelsen drove in four runs on two hits and sophomore Taitn Gray collected two runs batted in on one hit. Hamil gets his third win on the mound this season.

Their record is now (16-5) with a conference record of (9-3) and will face Pella Christian for a doubleheader on Monday with game 2 aired on KDLS.

Dallas Center-Grimes’ Aubrey Johansen shut down the Tigers in their matchup with Grinnell in softball. Johansen threw a complete game only allowing two runs to score on two hits while striking out seven. Then Johansen drove in a total of four runs on two doubles and two singles. Bella Mulder also added a two run homerun.

The Mustang softball team is now on a seven game winning streak with an overall record of (18-4) and a conference record of (10-2).
