Drought conditions are starting to worsen in some parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to the US Drought Monitor, the southwestern portion of Guthrie County is now in a moderate drought while the northwestern part is already in a moderate drought. The majority of Greene County is in a moderate drought with the northeastern portion considered to be abnormally dry and the entire Dallas County area is considered to be abnormally dry.
According to the National Weather Service, for the month of June, Perry has received 1.44-inches of precipitation, Jefferson has 0.62-inches of precipitation and Guthrie Center has seen 0.23-inches of precipitation.
