Time is running out for anyone wanting to be a vendor within the Jefferson city limits during this year’s Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI).
Jefferson Matters Events and Tourism Coordinator Molly Cunningham reminds everyone that the deadline to apply to be a vendor is June 23rd. She explains any food vendors must have their temporary food permit approved with the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals by that date as well as placed on their map.
“They need to go through your applications and approve them, and just make sure that you understand the rules for food service as well. So they want to confirm that the vendors that are here know the rules and they are serving food the correct way and they are all licensed. And they’re going to be coming around on RAGBRAI day to check everybody’s spot. So if we don’t know about you and don’t have you on the map, they’re (Department of Inspection and Appeals) aren’t going to know about you either.”
RAGBRAI will be passing through Jefferson on July 25th when the estimated 25,000 bicyclists will be meeting in Rippey for lunch.
