The Stuart American Legion Post 146 is getting ready for one of the American Legion’s annual events.

Legion Posts in the surrounding area will meet at the Stuart Legion Hall on June 24th for the American Legion Riders event, with riders registering starting at 9am, and the ride beginning at 10:15am. The Riders will start from the Legion Hall, then travel to the Montgomery Street Pub in Creston and refuel, before heading to Patty’s Back Door in Grand River for a free will donation lunch of sloppy Joes and chips.

From there they will ride on to the BP gas station in Osceola for another stop to refuel, and then continue to Indianola to Sports Page. The group will then start on their way back with a stop at the Pheasant Run in Winterset, and end the day back at the Stuart Legion Hall for a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and ride prizes. Registration for a poker hand and to get a free shirt is $20, otherwise it’s $20 per bike and $10 per rider, with all proceeds being donated to the American Legion Legacy foundation.
