The 2023 high school baseball season for the Greene County Rams enters the midway part of the season with a 1-11 record and no wins in seven Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games. Coach Kyle Stalder’s team travels to Prairie City tonight to face a PCM team that won by the 10-run rule in Jefferson in the first meeting between the two.

Coming off a 9-4 loss at home on Monday night to South Hamilton (Jewell), the Rams hit the ball better than some games, but five errors helped spoil a solid night of pitching. A very young team that has few seniors and no juniors, the youth and inexperience has shown at times, while at other times the team has had shining moments.

After tonight, it’s a road trip to Story City on Thursday for a varsity doubleheader vs. Roland-Story.
