The ADM varsity softball team picked another Raccoon River Conference 6-2 win over the Ballard Bombers last night in Adel. The ADM Tigers had nine hits on the night. Ballard got on the board first when the scored two runs in the top of the third inning when they took a 2-0 lead. Then in the bottom of the 3rd inning freshman Ellis Smith who went 1-4 in the game come up to the plate had a solid double which allowed senior Tess Boorn and sophomore Aniston Tollari to come into score and tie the game up at 2-2. Then freshman Lauren Hagedorn came up to the plate and a smashed the ball to the left centerfield fence to get herself a double which allowed freshman Ellis smith to come into score the go ahead run which made the score 3-2. In the bottom of the fifth senior Addison Banse hit the ball over the left field fence for a 2-run home run for her 5th and team leading home runs on the season which made the score 5-2 at that time. The ADM Tigers tacked on another run in the bottom of the sixth inning for another insurance run and made the 6-2 to secure the win for the ADM Tigers. Junior Cameran Smith started and got the win for the ADM Tigers last night as she pitched three solid innings. Junior Cameran Smith now improves her record to 6-0 on the season with this win for the ADM Tigers while allowing only five hits, two earned runs while striking out three Ballard Bomber batters. Then freshman Lauren Hagedorn came into the game into relieve junior Cameran Smith and pitched four solid innings and picking up her 6th save of the season while striking out three Ballard Bomber batters on the night to secure the 6-2 win for the ADM Tigers.

This win for the ADM Tigers softball team will put them at a overall record of 11-7 and 5-3 in the Raccoon River Conference record on the season. The ADM Tigers softball team will continue their busy week with games. Tonight they will host the Boone Toreadors at 7:30 pm in a Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup at the ADM High School Softball Field. On Thursday June 15th they will travel to Carroll to take on the Carroll Tigers in a Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup with 7:30 pm first pitch. On Friday June 16th the ADM Tigers will play in Day 1 of Roland-Story softball tournament. In their first game Friday they will play Solon Spartans at 3:30 pm and in their second and final game on day 1 will be against the Perry Jayettes at 5:30 pm. On Saturday June 16th the ADM Tigers will play two games in Day 2 of the Roland-Story Softball Tournament. In their first game Saturday they will play Mount Vernon at 1:00 pm and they will play their second and final game of the day against Benton at 5:00 pm. The ADM Tigers will be playing in nine total possible games in six days this week.
