A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to probation for an August 2022 incident.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Eric Rosenow pled guilty to a Class D Felony for third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine. He had a five year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for three years with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The charge stemmed from an incident on August 30, 2022. The Jefferson Police Department responded to a call at Washington Park about Rosenow being a nuisance and he was then arrested on Hamilton County warrants. Following the arrest, officers were searching Rosenow and he admitted to having a smoking device on him that was used for methamphetamine. Officers also searched his bag when he was being booked into the Greene County Jail and found more drug-related items.
Court documents show that Rosenow was also ordered to pay over $1,500 in fines, surcharges, court-appointed attorney fees and court costs. As part of the plea agreement, Rosenow had another Class D Felony for another third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine dismissed.
