The ADM varsity softball team picked up a 3-0 Raccoon River Conference regular season win over the Gilbert Tigers at home last night. It sure was defensive battle between Gilbert and ADM. ADM Tigers were only allowed seven hits on the night. Brylee Person got the got the offense going when she 1-3  and hit first home run of the season which a two-run shot over the left field fence to make the score 2-0 at after the bottom of the fourth inning. Then in the bottom of the sixth inning the ADM Tigers got another insurance run when Kaylee Smith drove in Madi James from second base to give the ADM Tigers a 3-0 leading heading into the 7th inning. Starting pitcher  junior Cameran Smith pitched a solid three innings only allowing one hit. Then freshman Lauren Hagedorn came into relieve Cameran Smith in the top of 4th inning and only faced thirteen Gilbert batters while only giving up one hit while striking out two Gilbert Tiger batters. Junior Cameran Smith was the winning pitcher and now has a 6-0 record in her starts this season for the ADM Tigers.

This win for the ADM Tigers softball team will put them at a overall record of 10-7 and 4-3 in the Raccoon River Conference record on the season. The ADM Tigers softball team will continue their busy week when they will host the Ballard Bombers at the ADM Softball field with a 6:00 pm in a Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup. On Wednesday June 14th they will host the Boone at 7:30 pm in a Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup. On Thursday June 15th they will travel to Carroll to take on the Carroll Tigers in a Raccoon River Conference regular season matchup with 7:30 pm first pitch. On Friday June 16th the ADM Tigers will play in Day 1 of Roland-Story softball tournament. In their first game Friday they will play Solon Spartans at 3:30 pm and in their second and final game on day 1 will be against the Perry Jayettes at 5:30 pm. On Saturday June 16th the ADM Tigers will play two games in Day 2 of the Roland-Story Softball Tournament. In their first game Saturday they will play Mount Vernon at 1:00 pm and they will play their second and final game of the day against Benton at 5:00 pm.
