The West Central Valley Wildcats soccer teams have each had three players named to Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association Class 1A Academic All State Teams. For the girls team, Bethany Speichinger and Beth Belden were both named to the 1st Team, while Avery Hazen was named an Honorable Mention. For the boys team, Nate Gerling was named to the 1st Team, Jacob Hill was named to the 2nd Team and Braylen Taylor was named an Honorable Mention. To be recognized for any of these teams, the player must be a junior or senior, start over half of the team’s games, have over a 3.5 GPA and be selected by the IAHSSCA Committee.
