The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office held their 14th Annual Special Olympics All-Wheels Car Show last weekend which raised a lot of money.

Organizer Sergeant Ray Dirksen says that they had 132 cars registered and inturn they raised $11,000 for Special Olympics Iowa. Dirksen tells Raccoon Valley Radio they were proud of the turnout.

It’s the Dallas County All Wheels Show and it benefits the Special Olympics Iowa. We attempt to raise money to sponsor the athletes. And all the money that we raise that day does go directly to the Special Olympics Iowa for the athletes. This year, we had a great turnout. We were down a little bit of cars, but I think there was a lot of stuff going on. But we had beautiful weather (and) a lot of gorgeous cars.”

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office All-Wheels Show always occurs on the first Saturday in June.
